BEIJING, Oct. 7 (Xinhua) -- Thick fog is predicted to hit China from Monday to Tuesday amid the travel rush as the National Day holiday draws to a close, China's meteorological authority said.
Dense fog engulfed northern and western provinces of Hebei, Shanxi and Shaanxi Monday morning, according to the National Meteorological Center (NMC).
From Monday night to Tuesday morning, thick fog will shroud central provinces of Henan and Anhui. The visibility in parts of the regions will be reduced to less than 200 meters.
The NMC suggested drivers in affected areas use precaution and slow down while driving amid the peak traffic flow on the last day of the weeklong holiday that began on Oct. 1.
