Africa has 11 players including five from Kenya, ready to compete on this notoriously challenging course in view of the Indian Ocean.

The host has entered Kenya ladies champion Naomi Wafula, Bhavi Shah, Agnes Nyakio, Mercy Nyanchama, and Margaret Njoki.

"It is a great challenge for me to play at the Kenya Ladies Open. It will be a great learning opportunity as I look to turn Pro in the near future," said Wafula on Wednesday ahead of the tournament.

A total prize fund of 33 million shillings (333,000 U.S. dollars) is up for grabs by the winners.

African players coming for the tournament include Nigeria's Georgia Iziemgbe Oboh, eSwatini player Nobuhle Dlamini, Stacy Lee Bregman and Lejan Lewthwaite from South Africa, Maha Haddioui from Morocco, and Lakareber Abe of Uganda.
