KASHMIR-JAMMU-INCENSE STICKS-MAKING

A woman works at a workshop as she performs different tasks of assorting, cutting, drying and processing flowers to make incense sticks in Jammu, the winter capital of Indian-controlled Kashmir, on Dec. 5, 2019. The flowers collected from various temples and shrines are to be made incense sticks, while earlier, those flowers were dumped in Tawi River and Ranbir Canal. The idea has been carried out for dual purposes of keeping Tawi River, Ranbir Canal and other water bodies clean, as well as providing dignified employment for women from economically-weaker strata of the society.
