KUNDUZ, Afghanistan, Jan. 17 (Xinhua) -- Four militants have been confirmed dead as clash erupted in Khan Abad district of the northern Kunduz province on Friday, a district official Qudratullah Safi said.
The clash, according to the official, erupted early Friday morning in Chartoot area of the restive district and lasted for a while and the militants fled away after leaving four bodies behind.
Two more militants sustained injuries in the firefight, the official added.
Khan Abad district has been the scene of Taliban-led insurgency over the past few years and clash between armed insurgents and security forces on Thursday had also left 10 militants and 11 security personnel dead.
