MEHTARLAM, Afghanistan, Feb. 11 (Xinhua) -- Afghan forces backed by fighting planes struck a Taliban detention center and rescued 15 civilians on Monday, said an army statement released Tuesday.
According to the statement, the detention center was located in the restive Dawlat Shah district and all the 15 civilians held by the armed insurgents illegally were set free and reintegrated to their families.
No security personnel or civilians had been harmed during the raids, the statement said.
The Taliban outfit has yet to make comment.
In a similar raid on Jan. 29, the security forces freed 62 army soldiers from a Taliban jail in Bala Murghab district of the western Badghis province.
