GAZA, April 6 (Xinhua) -- The Hamas-ruled Health Ministry in Gaza Strip announced on Monday that one new COVID-19 case was recorded in the Palestinian coastal enclave, raising the total number of infections to 13.

The ministry said in a short message sent to reporters that the case belongs to a Gaza citizen who came back from Britain two weeks ago through the Rafah border crossing between southern Gaza Strip and Egypt.

It added that he was tested positive for COVID-19 before he was about to leave the quarantine for two weeks.

The ministry said that since March 5, the total number of cases infected with the virus in the Gaza Strip climbed to 13 cases, six of them have recovered.

Earlier Monday, Ashraf al-Qedra, spokesman of the Health Ministry in Gaza, told a news briefing that 632 Gaza citizens ended their obligatory 21-day quarantine at one of the 27 centers in the Gaza Strip and went home.
