South Sudanese President Salva Kiir has denied reports that he had contracted COVID-19.

JUBA, May 26 (Xinhua) -- South Sudan's President Salva Kiir has denied reports that he had contracted COVID-19.

The South Sudanese leader was responding to rumors circulated on social media alleging that he was ill.

Kiir told reporters in Juba Monday that he is doing well and still continuing with his duties as head of state.

Senior members of South Sudan's government, including First Vice president Riek Machar and other ten cabinet ministers, have tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
