BOGOTA -- The wife of Colombian President Ivan Duque, Maria Juliana Ruiz, has tested positive for COVID-19, the president's office confirmed Tuesday.

"Today, Nov. 24, the results of the tests carried out the day before were delivered, and those of the nation's First Lady were positive. At this moment she is asymptomatic and following quarantine protocols established by the Ministry of Health," according to the statement.

WASHINGTON -- Nearly 1.2 million children in the United States have been diagnosed with COVID-19 since the onset of the pandemic, according to the latest data of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the Children's Hospital Association.

A total of 144,145 new child COVID-19 cases were reported the past week from Nov. 12 to 19, a 28 percent increase in child COVID-19 cases in the country, according to the AAP.

ANKARA -- Turkey reported 7,381 new COVID-19 patients on Tuesday, raising the total number of infections in the country to 460,916, the Turkish Health Ministry announced.

Meanwhile, 161 people died in the past 24 hours, taking the death toll to 12,672.

OTTAWA -- The number of COVID-19 cases in Canada continued to increase as the country reported a total of 340,388 cases and 11,592 deaths as of Tuesday afternoon, according to CTV.

The country confirmed the average daily COVID-19 case count standing at 5,050 cases for the past seven days, according to the Public Health Agency of Canada on Tuesday.

SANTIAGO -- Chile registered 1,005 new daily cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) infection, pushing its total caseload to 543,087, the Health Ministry said on Tuesday.

In the same 24-hour period, 25 more patients died from the disease, raising the death toll to 15,131.

PARIS -- French people will enjoy more freedom in outdoor exercises starting Saturday, and the nationwide coronavirus lockdown could be lifted on Dec. 15 if health conditions are met, President Emmanuel Macron announced Tuesday in a TV address.

"A new page will open on Saturday, Nov. 28," said Macron. Starting Saturday, outdoor exercises will be allowed for up to three hours a day, and people can go up to 20 km from their homes. Currently, people can only go out for exercise for one hour and in a radius of one km.
