ZHUJI, China, Jan. 3 (Xinhua) -- Seven players scored double digits to help the Jilin Northeast Tigers beat the Fujian Sturgeons 117-110 in the 26th round of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league here on Sunday, extending their winning streak to three.
Dominique Jones led Jilin with 35 points, 13 rebounds and six assists. Jiang Yuxing added 19 points and seven rebounds, Cui Jinming finished with 14 points and five assists, and Zhong Cheng pocketed 15 points, seven rebounds and seven assists.
Although Wang Zhelin was absent due to injuries, Fujian kept its attacking rhythm. The teams remained neck and neck until the last quarter. Jones' magical performance helped Jilin seize the victory at last.
"Fujian did give us a hard time today and our defense wasn't good enough. However, it was us who fought to the end," said Jilin coach Wang Han.
Fujian coach Nenad Vucinic praised his players for taking the lead in the third quarter. He thought the reason for the loss was due to weakness at free throws.
After the game, Jilin sits the sixth place in the standings while Fujian stays last. Enditem
