BEIJING, Jan. 27 (Xinhua) -- Premier Li Keqiang on Wednesday heard a work report via video link from Chief Executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) Ho Iat Seng on the Macao SAR government's work in 2020 and Macao's current situation.

Vice Premier Han Zheng also attended the event.

Li hailed the efforts of Ho and the Macao SAR government in taking a series of measures to deal with the severe impact brought by COVID-19 on the economic and social development of Macao.

After the epidemic situation was relieved, the Macao SAR government worked to promote an appropriate level of diversity in the economy in a timely manner and speed up cooperation with Guangdong Province, thus maintaining sound development of Macao, Li noted.

"The central authorities fully acknowledge the work you and the Macao SAR government have done," Li said.

Li called on the Macao SAR government to continue its work on epidemic prevention and control while ensuring economic stability and improving people's livelihood, among others.

Ho pledged that the Macao SAR government will continue containing the virus and actively synergize Macao with national development strategy and recover its economy at a faster pace.
