China cranks up crackdown on smuggling of epidemic-related goods

BEIJING, March 3 (Xinhua) -- The China Coast Guard (CCG) has kicked off a campaign to crack down on smuggling by sea with special emphasis on cold-chain food and epidemic-related materials.

Under the special circumstances of COVID-19 prevention and control, the campaign will intensify the crackdown on the smuggling of frozen products such as seafood into China and the smuggling of epidemic prevention materials as well as vaccines out of the country by sea, according to CCG.

The CCG will also continue to clamp down on the smuggling of refined oil products, cigarettes, mineral products, sugar, grain and other key taxable goods, as well as the smuggling of foreign garbage, wildlife and relevant products, guns and drugs. Enditem
