ISTANBUL, May 5 (Xinhua) -- Turkey's third drillship Kanuni sailed toward its first mission zone in the Black Sea, Energy and Natural Resources Minister Fatih Donmez announced Wednesday.
Kanuni will conduct drilling activities in Sakarya Gas Field and carry out deep-sea tests in the Turkali well, Donmez said on his Twitter account.
The ship underwent maintenance at Filyos Port in the northern province of Zonguldak before sailing to the zone.
Last year, Turkey's Fatih drillship discovered 405 billion cubic meters of natural gas reserves in the Black Sea.
Fatih is currently in the region, conducting drilling activities at the Amasra-1 well zone. Enditem
