Photo taken on Feb. 28, 2017 shows an aerial view of Damingshan Ski Resort which is located in the Damingshan Mountain at an elevation of 1200m, in Lin'an, east China's Zhejiang Province. Damingshan Ski Resort, as the biggest ski resort in East China, has 5,000 square meters of play area and 50,000 square meters of professional ski zone, which received 140,000 tourists from Dec. 12, 2016 to March 3, 2017. In an echo of China's overarching ambition to encourage 300 million people in the country to participate in winter sports ahead of the 2022 Winter Olympics, skiing and skating are witnessing a boom in east China's Zhejiang Province. There are 10 ski resorts and 4 ice skating courts in Zhejiang. These ski resorts in Zhejiang accommodated 840,100 tourists and earned more than 1 million RMB in last year. As 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics coming, more winter sports venues will be building up here. The government of Zhejiang will announce policies and plans on winter sports development. One expert from Sports Economy department of Zhejiang Sports Bureau believed more and more people of China's middle class would participate into winter sports. (Xinhua/Huang Zongzhi)
