With terrorism spreading across the world, most armed conflicts will be low-intensity ground confrontations. Small, simple but smart and accurate weaponry for the army is desperately needed to cope with the skirmishes in complicated environments. The CM-501G was developed for this purpose and drew immediate attention when it debuted at the Zhuhai Air Show in November 2014.
The CM-501G precision attack weaponry has multiple functions, including target reconnaissance, mission planning, network-centric coordination, precision attack and damage assessment. It is a highly integrated small arms system installed with a universal container launch device, allowing long-range precision attack, flexible unmanned probes and networked operations based on integrated information.
On intensive, complicated and changing battlefields, the system stands out for its flexibility, high efficiency, quick response and lethality.
Comprising the projectiles as well as the launch, command control and technical support systems, the weaponry could be used for reconnaissance if an unmanned aerial vehicle or artillery location radar was added. It can independently undertake reconnaissance, command, attack and damage assessment operations.
Supported by optic and microwave precision guidance technology and data chain technology, CM-501G missiles can be used to attack all types of ground targets. Moreover, with two modes of trajectory – active and passive glide – they have a range of more than 70 kilometers. In a confrontation, the system can forestall the enemy by launching quicker attacks with higher precision and hit military and non-military targets with low collateral damage.
