TEHRAN, June 9 (Xinhua) -- Iran's Intelligence Ministry announced on Friday that the security forces have arrested 41 individuals linked to the Islamic States (IS), official IRNA news agency reported.
In a chain of complicated intelligence operations, 41 IS-linked individuals were arrested in Tehran, Kermanshah, Kurdistan and West Azarbaijan provinces, the Ministry said in a statement.
Earlier on the day, the Intelligence Ministry said that it has identified a number of IS terrorists' hideout in the northwest of Iran and has seized sizable amount of ammunition.
It also said that the Islamic republic is hunting the commandment centers of the terrorists beyond the borders.
In two separate attacks by the IS members against Iran's Majlis (parliament) and the mausoleum of the founder of the Islamic republic on Wednesday, at least 17 people were killed and over 50 were injured.
The six assailants were also killed by Iran's security forces.
