ANKARA, July 2 (Xinhua) -- A total of 11 Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants were killed in southeast of Turkey on Sunday, state-run Anadolu Agency reported.
During the counter-terror operations, six militants were killed in the southeastern province of Sirnak while five others were killed in an air strike launched by Turkish army in Mardin province, the report said, quoting Turkish security forces.
It added that a PKK militant was also captured in Mardin.
The PKK, listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU, resumed its 30-year armed campaign against Ankara in July 2015 after a brief reconciliation period.
Over 10,000 PKK terrorists have been killed in security operations in Turkey since July 2015, according to Turkey's Defense Ministry.
