SUVA, July 24 (Xinhua) -- More than 50 Fijian children will undergo surgery by a team of medical specialists from Israel on Monday.
The team of three doctors and a nurse will provide free surgeries and health screening at the Colonial War Memorial Hospital (CWMH) in Suva from Monday.
Yaron Sultan-Dadon, the Israeli Pacific Islands advisor, said the team belonged to a project called the Mashav which is a humanitarian arm of the Israeli Foreign Ministry.
Through Mashav, Israel assist more than 60 countries strive to alleviate shared global problems such as hunger, disease and poverty.
In 10 days, the Israeli team is expected to carry out 70 surgeries in total.
