BRUSSELS, Aug. 18 (Xinhua) -- Belgium's judiciary authorities have decided to open investigation following two terror attacks on Thursday afternoon and evening in Barcelona, Spain, said the Belgian Federal Prosecution service's spokesman Thierry Weerts on Friday.
A judiciary investigation is usually opened in Belgium if a Belgian national has been a victim of a terror attack or murder.
At least 14 people were killed, including a Belgian, and 130 injured during the twin terror attacks in Spain.
The judiciary investigation will help Belgian authorities to keep track of investigations in Spain. That procedure will also help the Belgian victims of the attack, said Thierry Weerts to local media.
Belgium's Foreign Affairs department also asked on Friday the Belgian in Spain to be precautious and to "respect strictly the indications of local authorities".
