HANOI, Sept. 30 (Xinhua) -- South Korean Changwon FC coach Park Hang-seo has signed a two-year contract to direct the Vietnamese national men's football team.
Park vowed to lead the Vietnamese squad to certain success at the Asian Cup 2019 and Olympic Tokyo 2020, an official from the Vietnam Football Federation said on Saturday.
The official did not reveal the coach's salary in Vietnam, just saying it was a considerable sum.
The previous foreign coach of the team, Toshiya Miura from Japan, had received an after-tax salary of 15,000 U.S. dollars a month.
After the team's failure at the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games 2017 in Malaysia, Vietnamese coach Nguyen Huu Thang resigned.
