CHENGDU, April 7 (Xinhua) -- An autopsy on a 14-year-old boy, who was found dead outside a school room about a week ago, revealed no injuries to support allegations that he had been assaulted, authorities in southwest China's Sichuan Province said Friday.
Zhao Xin was an eighth grader in Taifu Town of Luzhou City.
According to the autopsy, the child's wounds were the result of a fall, Wang Qinghong, a police officer with the provincial public security department, told a press conference.
The autopsy was performed on Thursday by the public security department and was supervised by local procurators, expert witnesses and lawyers invited by Zhao's parents.
"His injuries, which were mostly internal, were caused by falling from a height. We found no injuries consistent with an attack or violence," said Wang.
Zhao was found dead outside a dormitory on April 1. Police were alerted and investigations were carried out. However, there had been rumors that the boy had been beaten to death by five students and then thrown out of a fifth-floor window.
