Chadian president, Chinese vice president meet to further bilateral ties

N'DJAMENA, May 9 (Xinhua) -- Chadian President Idriss Deby Itno met with visiting Chinese Vice President Li Yuanchao here on Tuesday, with both sides vowing to further bilateral ties.

Li conveyed Chinese President Xi Jinping's regards and best wishes to President Deby. Li said the relations between China and Chad maintain the momentum of rapid development and mutual beneficial cooperations have been fruitful.

He said the meeting between the presidents of China and Chad last year laid out the road map for mutual cooperations in various fields, and showed the direction in the development of friendly relations between the two countries.

The Chinese vice president said his visit to Chad is to implement the important consensus reached by the two countries' heads of state, coordinate thinking of further implementing the results of China-Africa Cooperation Forum Johannesburg Summit, discuss the prioritized fields and major projects in future cooperation, and bring more benefits to the two peoples.

Li said China will deeply implement the principles of sincerity and affinity toward Africa and uphold the right views on justice and interests, which was proposed by President Xi.

China is ready to deepen mutual communications and visits in various levels, strengthen the political foundation, push forward pragmatic cooperations, enrich the results of mutual relations, enlarge the cooperations in various fields like culture, health and media, and push the mutual ties to a higher level, Li added.

President Deby asked Li to convey his regards and best wishes to Xi, saying he had met with Xi for several times and reached the consensus in cooperations between Chad and China.

Deby said his country has attached great importance to developing relations with China and highly lauds its win-win policy.

Deby said Chad would like to work with China to further develop the relations between the two countries.

During the visit to Chad, Li also met with Chadian Prime Minister Albert Pahimi Padacke.
