TOKYO, July 28 (Xinhua) -- Japan's consumer prices increased in June from a year earlier, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications said in a report on Friday.

According to the ministry, Japan's consumer prices stood at 0.4 percent in the recording month, with the rise partly attributable to increasing prices for crude oil, the government said.

The core consumer price index, which excludes fresh food prices because of their volatility, rose for the sixth consecutive month, the government said in its latest report.
