DUBAI, Aug. 17 (Xinhua) -- The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has offered emergency relief worth of 100,000 U.S. dollars to the Republic of Sierra Leone which had been hit by natural disasters and heavy landslides, the official news agency WAM reported.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in Abu Dhabi said that it would provide emergency relief to the West African country through the World Food Program (WFP) worth 367,000 dirhams (100,000 U.S. dollars).
Landslides and floods struck Freetown, the capital city of the Republic of Sierra Leone, last Tuesday, killing more than 400 people and causing hundreds homeless.
