SANAA, Aug. 30 (Xinhua) -- A Saudi-led coalition airstrike hit an oil truck on Yemen's Sanaa-Hodiedah road early Wednesday, killing five civilians including the driver, a security official told Xinhua.
The four victims happened to be near the truck on the road 10 km west of the capital Sanaa, the security official said on condition of anonymity.
It is the latest coalition airstrike targeting civilians in the war-torn Arab country.
On Friday, the coalition fighter jets struck three houses in Faj Attan quarter in downtown Sanaa, killing 14, including six children. A day later, the coalition admitted responsibility for the airstrike, describing it as a "technical mistake."
In March 2015, the Saudi-led coalition intervened in the Yemeni conflict to back internationally-recognized government of President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi against Iranian-backed Houthis, who had invaded Sanaa and seized most of the country's northern provinces.
More than 10,000 people, mostly civilians, have been killed in the war, with 3 million displaced and million others suffering from hunger.
The war-torn Yemen is also suffering the world's largest cholera epidemic, with suspected cases having reached half a million and some 2,000 killed.
