RIYADH, Sept. 12 (Xinhua) -- Saudi security authorities said they foiled a suicide bombing attack against two headquarters of the Ministry of Defense in Riyadh, Saudi Press Agency reported Tuesday.
The terrorist attack was thwarted when two suicide bombers, identified as Ahmed Yaser al-Kaldi and Ammar Ali Muhammad, both Yemeni nationals, were captured before reaching the target location.
An official from the State Security Presidency said the suspects are members of Islamic State sleeping cells in the kingdom.
Meanwhile, two Saudi nationals were also arrested. Their relationship with the two alleged suicide bombers are still under investigation, the official said on condition of anonymity.
The police seized two explosive belts, each weighing 7 kg, nine homemade grenades, as well as some firearms and non-firearm weapons.
