DUBAI, Sept. 15 (Xinhua) -- The amount of rainwater collected in the dam reservoirs across the country over period between September 4-8 reached 213,908 cubic metres, United Arab Emirates (UAE) state news agency said on Friday quoting the Gulf state's Ministry of Energy in Abu Dhabi.
The rains, reported in the northern, eastern and central parts of the country, led to an overflow of water in several valleys, and the gathering of water in some dams supervised by the ministry.
According to the technical team of the Department of Dams at the Ministry, 30,400 cubic metres of water accumulated and overflowed Al Daoudi Dam, which has a storage capacity of 18,000 cubic metres, and other dams like Al Amim, Al Qasa'a and Al Ghail.
The ministry called on those who frequent valleys and dam farers to exercise "caution and adhere to the safety guidelines."
