TIRANA, Sept. 28 (Xinhua) -- "Daybreak" by Albanian director Gentian Koci is Albania's official candidate for the Oscars' best foreign-language film award.
"Daybreak" is a drama which received wide critical acclaim after its premiere at the Sarajevo Film Festival. If nominated, it would be the first Albanian movie to reach this stage.
Since 1996, Albania has sent 10 Oscars movie candidatures, but none of them were nominated for an Oscar.
"Daybreak is a fictional story on people's day-by-day's struggle to keep going on in society," Koci said, describing his movie.
