KABUL, Oct. 15 (Xinhua) -- A local Afghan Pashto Television Channel Shamshad TV on Sunday launched a news service to broadcast China-related news.
Chinese Ambassador to Afghanistan Yao Jing, Deputy Information and Culture Minister Sayed Aqa Houssain Sancharaki and founder of Shamshad TV Fazil Karim Fazil were among other officials attending a ceremony to launch the service.
The move came after Shamshad has inked an agreement with the China's CGTN (China Global Television Network) recently.
Shamshad will broadcast the 15-minute news service from 05:00 p.m. local time to 05:15 p.m. daily.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Yao Jing said China will continue to support Afghanistan's peace and reconstruction process to see a peaceful and prosperous Afghanistan.
The Chinese ambassador also emphasized for more people-to-people contact between the two nations.
"Afghanistan and China are good neighbors and launching China-related news service today would definitely enhance and improve cultural and social relations between the two neighboring nations," Fazil told the ceremony.
