MADRID, Dec. 29 (Xinhua) -- Spain's consumer prices rose by 1.2 percent in December when compared with the same month of a year earlier, according to advanced data of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) published by Spain's Statistical Office (INE) on Friday.
The figure is 0.5 percent lower than the annual rate of November, when consumer prices had risen by 1.7 percent.
Spain's consumer prices have been rising for 16 months year-on-year. The CPI started 2017 at 3 percent, the highest rate since October 2012, before falling in March to 2.3 percent. It fell and rose the following months until being close to 1 percent.
The INE will confirm the data on Jan. 12 when it will provide more information about the evolution of prices.
