TEHRAN, Jan. 11 (Xinhua) -- Several strong quakes have shaken western Iran in the past two hours following the 5.6-Richter scale earthquake that jolted Soomar city in western Kermanshah province on Thursday, Seismological Center reported.
Two after-shakes of 5.4-magnitude and one 5-magnitude quake shook Soomar on Thursday.
Besides, an after-shake of 5.4-magnitude jolted Zarneh region in Iran's Ilam province.
People in Kermanshah and Soomar cities rushed to the streets in panic as the temblors hit, local media reported.
The tremors have caused no casualties so far and assessment teams have been dispatched to Soomar, Zarneh region and the suburban villages.
At least 600 Iranians died in a 7.3-magnitude earthquake that hit the Kermanshah province on Nov. 12 last year.
