BEIJING, Jan. 16 (Xinhua) -- China's Ministry of Education will continue its zero-tolerance policy for any behavior that harms students or violates teacher ethics.

Xu Mei, the ministry's spokeswoman, made the remarks Tuesday in response to a sexual harassment allegation at Beihang University.

A professor at Beihang University has been removed from his post after a former female student accused him of sexual harassment on social media.

The university announced on its Sina Weibo account last week that Chen Xiaowu was stripped of his post as executive vice president of the university's Graduate School. His teaching certificate was also canceled.

Xu said that the ministry will deal with any and all of sexual harassment cases reported in other universities and colleges.

The ministry will also work with other departments to establish a mechanism to prevent such behavior, according to Xu.
