JAKARTA, Jan. 17 (Xinhua) -- Sales volume of mobile phones in Indonesia is expected to grow fast this year as consumers require device with sophisticated facilities for communication, said a communication expert here on Wednesday.
Associate of Market Analyst (IDC) Indonesia, Risky Febrian said that the sales volume of mobile phones in the country is estimated to rise by 6 percent this year, compared with 2017.
"Improved and various communication facilities in the device has increased demand of mobile phone with higher certification as it will help smooth the way in communication," said Febrian.
Besides, growing number of first time buyers has also spurred hike of mobile phone sales in the country, he added.
Mobile phone with moderate prices is forecast to dominate sales in Indonesia, said Febrian.
Indonesia is one of the biggest markets for mobile phones as the country has a population of over 250 million with a rising middle class and growing rich people.
