BEIJING, Jan. 22 (Xinhua) -- The top legislature of China will convene from Jan. 29 to 30 in Beijing to discuss revision of the Constitution, according to a statement issued after a chairpersons' meeting Monday.
Zhang Dejiang, chairman of the 12th National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee, presided over the meeting.
Attendees of Monday's meeting said the NPC Standing Committee session would discuss a proposal by the Communist Party of China Central Committee to revise the Constitution, review the draft of the revision and a motion to hold the first session of the 13th NPC.
The session will also review a number of official appointments and dismissals.
