WASHINGTON, Jan. 25 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee will release the transcripts of its interview with President Donald Trump's aides who attended a 2016 meeting with a Russian lawyer, the committee chairman Chuck Grassley said Thursday.
"So, now it's time to start releasing the transcripts of all witness interviews we have done related to that meeting," Grassley said in a statement. "Let's get them out there for everyone to see."
Grassley said the panel is finished with work related to the June 2016 Trump Tower meeting, attended by Donald Trump Jr., the president's eldest son, and his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, as well as former presidential campaign chairman Paul Manafort.
The transcripts include an interview with Trump Jr, who confirmed he attended the meeting after he was promised dirt on his father's presidential rival, Hillary Clinton.
The committee also plans to release written responses from Natalia Veselnitskaya, the Russian attorney who had said she was there to discuss U.S. nationals adopting Russian children.
The other witnesses in attendance of the meeting whose interviews are in line for release are Russian real estate executive Ike Kaveladze, Russian-American lobbyist Rinat Akhmetshin, music promoter Rob Goldstone, and translator Anatoli Samochornov, according to Grassley's office.
Grassley said the Judiciary Committee's chances of getting a voluntary interview with Kushner "have been shot," but will work on getting access to the Senate Intelligence Committee's March interview with the Trump aide.
The panel's interviews are part of the probes into possible Russian collusion with the Trump campaign.
It was not clear when the transcripts would be released.
