TOKYO, Jan. 26 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar fell to the 109 yen line Friday in Tokyo following the rally after U.S. President Donald Trump said that he ultimately wants the dollar to be strong.
At 5 p.m., the dollar was quoted at 109.03-04 yen compared with 109.39-49 yen in New York and 109.02-03 yen in Tokyo at 5 p.m. Thursday. It moved between 108.92 yen and 109.77 yen during the day.
The euro fetched 1.2474-2475 dollars and 136.01-05 yen against 1.2391-2401 dollars and 135.62-72 yen in New York and 1.2418-2420 dollars and 135.38-42 yen in Tokyo late Thursday afternoon.
