DUBAI, Feb. 7 (Xinhua) -- Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi on Wednesday left the United Arab Emirates (UAE) after a two-day official visit to the Gulf Arab state, UAE state news agency WAM reported.
During his visit, Sisi held talks with Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
The two sides talked about bilateral cooperation in political and economic areas, according to WAM.
The two sides also discussed means to combat "extremism, violence and terrorism," added WAM.
The UAE has provided political and financial support to Egypt since the military removed former Islamist President Mohamed Morsi in July 2013.
In June 2017, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the UAE and Egypt severed diplomatic ties as well as all air, sea and land links to Qatar, accusing the gas-rich Gulf state of supporting terrorism and aligning with Iran against Arab interests, which Doha has repeatedly denied.
