BEIJING, Feb. 10 (Xinhua) -- Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen Automobile Company Ltd. has begun to recall 3,681 problematic automobiles, China's consumer quality watchdog has said.
The recall, starting February 9, will involve C4 Aircross and Peugeot 4008 automobiles produced between December 5, 2014 and October 16, 2015, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine said in a statement.
Faulty welding in the control block may give rise to circuit breaks. In addition, door locks may fail to work when temperatures rise.
The company will check the recalled vehicles and replace the parts free of charge.
Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen Automobile Company Ltd., a joint venture, was founded in 1992 by Dongfeng Motor Company and Citroen Auto Company, a subsidiary of the PSA Peugeot Citroen Group in France.
