MUNICH, Feb. 18 (Xinhua) -- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said here Sunday that Israel will act "not only against Iran's proxies, but also Iran itself" if necessary.

Netanyahu launched the fierce attack on Iran during his speech at the 54th Munich Security Conference, saying that "we will not allow Iran's regime to put a noose of terror around our neck."

During his speech, he brought with himself a part of an Iranian drone shot down above Israel, yelling to Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif that "Do you recognize this? You should. It's yours. Don't test Israel's resolve."

In response, Zarif called Netanyahu's presentation "a cartoonish circus, which does not even deserve a response."

Over 500 participants from around the world attended the major annual gathering for international security issues on Feb. 16-18, amid uncertain transatlantic relations and challenges to the world order, mainly protectionism and nationalism.
