PARIS, Feb. 21 (Xinhua) -- French shares edged up on Wednesday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 up 0.23 percent, or 12.31 points, to close at 5,302.17 points.
A total of 27 of the 40 selected large companies gained in the day.
French multinational hotel group ACCOR advanced 4.18 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. French-Italian multinational electronics and semiconductor manufacturer STMICROELECTRONICS gained 1.79 percent. French multinational automotive supplier VALEO rose 1.68 percent.
European IT services corporation Atos was down 5.38 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. French multinational mass media conglomerate VIVENDI lost 1.69 percent. French multinational professional services and business consulting corporation CAP GEMINI lost 1.01 percent. Enditem
