BEIJING, Feb. 23 (Xinhua) -- Lu Enguang, a former official of the Ministry of Justice, has been charged with bribery and corporate bribery, the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) said Friday.
The indictment paper has been delivered to the Intermediate People's Court of Anyang City, Henan Province, by the Anyang People's Procuratorate.
Lu was former head of the ministry's political division.
Lu is accused of offering significant amounts of money and gifts to officials to secure illegitimate benefits for himself and the companies under his control, according to the SPP.
Under the directive of the SPP, the provincial procuratorate of Henan transferred Lu's case to the Anyang People's Procuratorate after completing the investigation.
The prosecutors have informed Lu of his litigation rights, interrogated him, and listened to his lawyer's opinions, the SPP said.
