TEHRAN, March 4 (Xinhua) -- An Italian company signed a deal with Iran to construct a solar power plant in the central province of Semnan, Financial Tribune daily reported Sunday.
The value of the deal signed on Saturday between Italy's Carlo Maresca and the Industrial Development and Renovation Organization of Iran amounts to 100 million U.S. dollars.
As per the deal, the 100-megawatt power plant will be built on a 2,000-hectare area near Garmsar Special Economic Zone within 15 months.
The Italian company is currently constructing a 10-megawatt solar power plant in Qeshm Free Trade Zone in Iran's southern province of Hormozgan.
The first phase of Qeshm power plant was launched last week during President Hassan Rouhani's travel to Hormozgan.
