SINGAPORE, March 19 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed lower on Monday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 0.39 percent or 13.85 points to close at 3,498.29.
A total of 1.63 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 939.8 million Singapore dollars (about 713 million U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 307 to 128.
The STI index closed down 0.16 percent or 5.59 points to close at 3,512.14 last Friday. Enditem
