TORONTO, March 29 (Xinhua) -- Canada's main stock index surged to its high in more than six weeks Thursday due to increasing resource and financial shares.
The Toronto Stock Exchange's benchmark Standard & Poor's/TSX Composite Index soared 197.35 points, or 1.3 percent, to close the day at 15,367.29.
Nine of the index's 10 main groups were up.
The Canadian dollar went to 0.77.44 U.S. dollar.
Asanko Gold Inc. soared 39.78 percent, to 1.30 Canadian dollars.
Bombardier Inc. edged up 0.27 percent, to 3.75 Canadian dollars.
Aurora Cannabis Inc. rose 2.99 percent, to 9.3 Canadian dollars.
Prometic Life Sciences Inc. fell 29.03 percent to 0.88 Canadian dollar.
Aphria Inc. declined 3.36 percent, to 11.49 Canadian dollars. Enditem
