TEHRAN, April 5 (Xinhua) -- Iran's foreign minister on Thursday called for resisting a U.S. push for global unilateralism, Tasnim news agency reported.
Mohammad Javad Zarif made the remarks at a ministerial conference of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.
Zarif urged the NAM member states to take collective actions in countering U.S. unilateralism.
The NAM member states have come together to forge a collective response to the latest developments affecting the world, he said.
The free hand given to Israel in its atrocities against Palestinians is a sign of new rising unilateralism, he added.
The Iranian foreign minister also called on the NAM to continue its lead in promoting multilateral decision-making.
"This is of great importance if the NAM wishes to pursue its aim of creating a just and equitable world order and global democratic governance," Zarif concluded.
