TEHRAN, April 27 (Xinhua) -- Iran's Ambassador to the United Nations said that Israel's aggressive policies are the root cause of all conflicts in the Middle East, Press TV reported on Friday.
"Indeed, Israel is a rogue regime, by definition - this is an undeniable fact for the international community," Gholamali Khoshroo said in a statement on Thursday.
"Illegal occupation, illegal settlements, apartheid, siege, and regular attacks of mass murder" are the actions of Israel, he added.
Khoshroo criticized the United States and some members of the UN Security Council for what he called granting Israel a sense of "exceptionalism" that has allowed Tel Aviv to constantly undermine peace in the region without ever having to worry about the consequences.
Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman said on Thursday that his country will hit Iran in response to any attack from the Islamic state.
If Iran attacks Tel Aviv, Israel "will strike Tehran and destroy every Iranian military site that threatens Israel in Syria, whatever the price," Lieberman said.
On April 8, Israel targeted Syria's T4 air base, killing 14 people including seven Iranian military advisers.
Iran's Foreign Ministry said on April 16 that Israel will be punished for killing Iranian military advisers in Syria.
