CAIRO, April 30 (Xinhua) -- Arab League (AL) Secretary General Ahmed Aboul-Gheit said Monday he seeks Ukraine's support to the Palestinian cause.
The remarks came during his meeting in Cairo with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin, the AL said in a statement.
During the meeting, the two exchanged opinions on regional and international vital issues, said the statement.
Aboul-Gheit reviewed the outcome of the recent Arab summit held in Saudi Arabia pertaining to the latest Palestinian developments, as well as situations in Syria, Libya and Yemen, the statement added.
The meeting also tackled ways to activate a signed memorandum of understanding between the AL and the Ukrainian government in order to promote relations between Ukraine and the Arab countries.
The Ukrainian foreign minister arrived in Cairo on Sunday for a two-day visit, during which he will hold talks with Egyptian officials.
