TOKYO, May 9 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks lost ground Wednesday morning on investor consternation following U.S. President Donald Trump's unilateral decision to withdraw the United States from the Iran nuclear deal.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average dropped 95.73 points, or 0.43 percent, from Tuesday to 22,412.96.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, fell 8.43 points, or 0.47 percent, to 1,771.39.
Pharmaceutical, precision instrument and marine transportation-linked issues comprised those that declined the most by the morning break.
