KABUL, May 9 (Xinhua) -- Several people were killed and some others injured in two successive terror attacks in Afghanistan's capital of Kabul on Wednesday, witnesses and sources said.
The first attack occurred around 11:30 a.m. local time after several gunmen and suicide bombers struck a police station in Dashti Barchi locality, Police District 13, in western Kabul, according to Interior Ministry spokesman Najib Danish.
The second attack came around 25 minutes later in central Kabul when terrorists armed with suicide jackets and guns stormed a police station and nearby buildings in Shahri Naw locality in Police District 10 of the city.
Government troops cordoned off the area shortly after the blasts, keeping people from gathering at the sites.
At least four suicide bombers detonated their explosives during the attacks and sporadic gunfights between terrorists and Afghan Special Operations Forces were ongoing in the two locations as of afternoon.
At least six injured were shifted to hospital by rescue teams after the attacks.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attacks so far.
