LONDON, May 21 (Xinhua) -- British stocks rose on Monday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index up 80.38 points or 1.03 percent at 7,859.17 points.
3i Group, the British private equity and venture capital company, soared 3.79 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Burberry Group and J Sainsbury rose by 3.52 percent and 3.50 percent, respectively.
Evraz, the international mining group, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 3.68 percent.
