Aerial photo taken on May 24, 2018 shows the new houses at the relocation site in Shuzhang Township of Huguan County, north China's Shanxi Province. Located in the deep of Taihang Mountain, the Zhaohechi Village has 53 villagers who have undergone severe water shortage for years. Natural rainfall has long been the sole source for the drinking and farming water. The turnaround came in 2017 when the governing Huguan County decided to lend a hand by relocating 184 villagers of Zhaohechi and other three villages to Shuzhan Township, which promises a much better living conditions. Currently, the relocation project is underway with newly-built houses having been allocated to these lucky villagers, who will in July hopefully move out of the mountain and get away from water-scarce life for good. Sponsored and supported by the county government, 4,925 dwellers have been relocated from impoverished area to the better-off places since 2016. (Xinhua/Zhan Yan)
